The ENVIRO indoor air-insulated switchgear is designed for operation in distribution networks of industrial and utility power systems. Its primary purpose is the secondary distribution of three-phase alternating current electricity at a frequency of 50 Hz, with a rated voltage up to 24 kV. Individual switchgear assemblies are configured from single standard bays with varied equipment.
It is also possible to manufacture custom bay layouts. If bays with equipment not covered in this document or with modified dimensions are required, the scope of equipment must be agreed upon with the manufacturer
Enviro is a two-compartment indoor switchgear in a metal enclosure made of galvanized steel sheets or sheets with an aluzinc coating, featuring a single busbar system. The switchgear is equipped with air-insulated switching apparatus. It has separate compartments for the busbars and for the cable section.
Switchgear Bays Have the Following Features:
- compact external dimensions relative to the rated voltage, specified insulation level, rated busbar currents, and short-circuit currents,
- two-compartment bay design ensuring separation of the main busbar section from the section used for connecting power cables,
- high operational reliability,
- long service life without the need for extensive maintenance,
- high corrosion resistance,
- versatility in implementing various switchgear configurations, with any number of bays,
- use of modern, reliable switching apparatus such as disconnectors, VD4 circuit breakers (ABB), SION (Siemens), Hicos (Boffetti), or circuit breakers from other manufacturers.
- possibility of wall-mounted installation, allowing efficient use of the switchgear room, which is particularly important in modernization and expansion of existing substations,
- easy and quick access to switchgear devices for supervision and maintenance,
- simple operation
The switchgear is adapted for the installation of modern protection and control equipment.
Protection and Interlocking System
The interlocking system prevents incorrect switching operations and prevents opening the bay door before de-energizing and closing the earthing switch.
Opening the earthing switch is only possible with the bay doors closed (or after deliberately releasing the interlock with a special key supplied with the switchgear—for example, to carry out a voltage test on the cable). Each feeder bay and circuit breaker bay is equipped as standard with capacitive voltage dividers on each phase and a voltage indicator. This solution facilitates checking the absence of voltage on the cable and safe phase synchronization using a phase comparator.
Safe operation due to the implemented solutions:
- arc-proof design—resistance to the effects of internal faults.
- specially reinforced bay construction (covers, locks, hinges).
- mechanical interlocks preventing incorrect switching operations and preventing contact with live parts.
- access to devices and control circuits with the elimination of the possibility of touching parts of the main circuits.
- use of control, signalling, mechanical and electrical position indicators, and viewing windows.
- optical indication of the disconnector, switch, and earthing switch contact positions, with viewing windows for their inspection.
- use of disconnectors and isolators providing a visible double break.enforced sequence of switching operations
