The UNIBLOK X-AIR medium-voltage air-insulated switchgear is designed for operation in distribution networks of industrial and utility power systems.

The switchgear is equipped with modern GSec Air (ABB) three-position air-insulated disconnectors.

Function: Secondary distribution of alternating current at a frequency of 50 Hz, with a rated voltage of up to 24 kV. Individual switchgear systems are configured from standard single bays with various equipment configurations. It is also possible to manufacture custom bay layouts. If bays with equipment not listed in this specification or with modified dimensions are required, the scope of equipment should be agreed upon with the manufacturer

 

The Uniblok X-AIR medium-voltage switchgear is intended for use in:

  • transformer substations,
  • distribution networks,
  • photovoltaic farms,
  • wind power plants,
  • industrial facilities,
  • public utility buildings.

Switchgear Bays Have the Following Features:

  • compact external dimensions relative to the rated voltage, specified insulation level, rated busbar currents, and short-circuit currents,
  • two-compartment bay design ensuring separation of the main busbar section from the section used for connecting power cables,
  • high operational reliability,
  • long service life without the need for extensive maintenance,
  • high corrosion resistance, 
  • versatility in implementing various switchgear configurations, with any number of bays,
  • use of modern, reliable switching devices such as disconnectors, isolators, VD4/R circuit breakers, or circuit breakers from other manufacturers,
  • prepared for the installation of modern protection and control equipment,
  • possibility of wall-mounted installation, allowing efficient use of the switchgear room, which is particularly important in modernization and expansion of existing substations,easy and quick access to switchgear equipment for supervision and maintenance

The UNIBLOK X-AIR switchgear complies with the following standards:

  • PN-EN 62271-1 – "High-voltage switchgear and controlgear — Part 1: Common specifications,"
  • PN-EN 62271-200 – "High-voltage switchgear and controlgear — Part 200: Metal-enclosed switchgear and controlgear for rated voltages above 1 kV up to and including 52 kV AC,"
  • PN-EN 62271-100 – "High-voltage switchgear and controlgear — Part 100: Alternating current circuit breakers,"
  • PN-EN 62271-102 – "High-voltage switchgear and controlgear — Part 102: AC disconnectors and earthing switches,"
  • PN-EN 62271-103 – "High-voltage switchgear and controlgear — Part 103: AC switches for rated voltages above 1 kV up to and including 52 kV,"PN-EN 62271-105 – "High-voltage switchgear and controlgear — Part 105: AC fuse switch-fuse combinations.”


Types of Uniblok X-AIR Switchgear Bays:

  • XL – line bay with disconnector,
  • XT – transformer bay with disconnector and fuses,
  • XP – measurement bay,
  • XWL – line bay with 3AE6/HICOS/VD4-R circuit breaker and GSecAIR disconnector,
  • XWT – transformer bay with Siemens 3AE6 / Boffetti HICOS / VD4-R circuit breaker and GSecAIR disconnector,
  • XS – coupler bay with disconnector

Basic dimensions for 24 kV are:

  • Width: 500 mm, 750 mm,
  • Depth: 1000 mm,
  • Height: 1700 mm.

Technical parameters:

1) Provided that the manufacturer of control, measurement, and protection equipment has not specified otherwise.
2) 
If the installation altitude of the switchgear exceeds 1000 m a.s.l., the insulation level of the switchgear should be adjusted with a factor in accordance with the guidelines of section 2.2.1 of standard PN-EN 62271-1.
